Scholarly publishing and the fluid World Wide Web

Scholarly publishing has traditionally taken place using the medium of print. This paper will discuss the transition to electronic scholarly publishing and how the fluid nature of the Web introduces special problems. These problems include document linking, document invariance, document durability, and changing standards.
