RSC Day 2025: EDI in Action: Transforming Academic Libraries Through Inclusive Practice

This lightning talk explores how academic libraries can bridge the gap between EDI policy and everyday practice through Monash University Library's "Libraries for Belonging" EDI Action Plan. We'll discuss the ways in which we will be working to improve accessibility in our online resources and in our spaces to help community members feel a sense of belonging and safety. Additionally we will discuss how EDI is being embedded in staff training and in our approaches to building partnerships across the university.

Participants will come away with practical ideas for incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into library services in ways that support the diverse needs of the whole academic community.
