Summary of paper presented at 5th Contemporary Drug Problems: Rethinking 'change': New theories, new topics, new questions, new methods. Prato, Italy, 2019
This presentation reports on the results of a qualitative
study exploring harmful drug and alcohol consumption and becoming-well
assemblages in a semi-rural place in Victoria, Melbourne. It highlights the
material and environmental forces that have influenced changes in health and
explores how mapping these forces within the counselling space can challenge
old ideas of how change is recognised.
