National education and training policy and future job openings by occupation and industry
Information about future job openings for new entrants can be important for those making decisions about what education and training courses to undertake. Such information has the potential to reduce skill imbalances in the labour market. This chapter describes a method used in Australia for producing medium term forecasts of job openings by occupation and industry.
