What are the potential TJ outcomes of opening apartheid inquests in a post-TRC, democratic SA? Using Wietekamp's model, the study identifies three outcomes that originated from the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which continue in the post-transit democracy. The submission is that current developments are not a new phenomenon per say, but a continued form of justice in a neutral court of law. In this regard, the challenges of courts as sites of conflict resolution are explored. Subsequently, which institutions have been responsive to the legal developments?
