In this thesis we explore a novel series of molecules designed to target multiple binding sites of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, in terms of their chemical structure and molecular mechanism. Herein we have developed many tool molecules which will further aid in the understanding and development of selective drugs for the treatment of cognitive disorders such as schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease.
