Principled Pragmatism: The Political Mobilization of the Christian Community in Malaysia

thesis
posted on 2018-07-12, 05:25 authored by PUI YEE CHOONG
This thesis examines the repression faced by the Christian community in Malaysia and their political responses. This study argues that the Christian community in Malaysia abides with a principled strategy but they are simultaneously pragmatic in their responses to repression. Besides making an original contribution to the field of contentious politics in Malaysia, this study deepens scholarly understanding of the relationship between repression and political mobilization.
