Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful biomedical imaging technique, however its use is limited due to the lack of selectivity and the toxicity associated with current clinical MRI contrast agents. This thesis develops novel nanomaterials to be contrast agents, enhancing MRI for better diagnostics.
