This paper was presented to the IAML conference in 2016 and later to the Content Services department of the ABC later that year. This is the later version.
Musica Australis was a radio program covering colonial music and presented on the ABC from 1969-1971. The program called for listeners to inform the producers, Richard Divall and Harold Hort, of colonial music collections and much of the resulting material remains available for ongoing research in the National Library of Australia or the National Archives of Australia.
