Modelling and numerical simulation of mesoscopic semiconductor optoelectronic devices
thesis
posted on 2017-01-16, 22:35 authored by Amaratunga, Vajira SampathThe research work reported in the thesis has been directed towards the integration of photonic crystal structures into existing devices, to develop novel photonic devices that are power efficient, compact and fast. It reports the development of new devices by integrating 1D photonic crystal structures into existing devices and the design of a new device using a 2D photonic crystal structure. The scope of the thesis is limited to numerical design and optimization of the devices. Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) numerical method (2D and 3D) has been used for the numerical analysis presented in the thesis.
