Modelling Thermonuclear X-ray Bursts on Accreting Neutron Stars

X-ray bursts are the most common nuclear explosions in the universe, and occur on the surface of neutron stars. This thesis develops new methods of modelling these bursts using computer simulations, which can be used to improve our understanding of neutron stars and extremely dense matter.
