Mechanism of carbon dioxide sequestration in deep coal seams

thesis
posted on 2019-12-15, 22:33 authored by XIAOGANG ZHANG
The rising CO2 level in the atmosphere is a major contributor to global climate changes. Carbon dioxide sequestration in deep coal seams has been identified as a promising technique to mitigate CO2 levels in the atmosphere. The main objective of this study is to develop comprehensive knowledge of the physical responses of coal during interaction with CO2 under deep underground conditions in order to find the optimum strategies to store CO2 in coal seam reservoirs.
