Just how many people live in central Sydney?
journal contribution
posted on 2017-05-04, 04:01 authored by McCracken, KevinThis brief note examines population growth in central Sydney over the past two intercensal periods, highlighting the difficulties the Australian Bureau of Statistics has had in accurately tracking this growth in its annual estimates of resident population numbers and its 2001 Census operations. The paper is a reminder that published population data are not always what they seem.
