This thesis is about internationalisation and multiculturalism at UGM and UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In studying this, it investigates also the supporting and inhibiting factors in internationalisation and multiculturalism and the sources and methods of knowledge used by people at both universities in internationalisation and multiculturalism. This qualitative finds that while internationalisation is undertaken through various programs, curriculum, and cultural values absorption, multiculturalism is through ideologies and strategies in promoting equality. Both universities have similar and different supporting and inhibiting factors. Likewise, people of both universities use similar and different sources and methods of knowledge in implementing internationalisation and multiculturalism.
