Providing support services for the settlement of refugees and asylum seekers is an increasing concern that is debated at an international level. This research focuses on the interaction during early resettlement, which offers the opportunity to reach a full, mutual understanding between migrants and host societies. Drawing on a comparison between issues concerning refugees and asylum seekers in Australia and Italy, this study included 15 Non-Governmental and Community-Based organisations, exploring the role of intercultural communication through an in-depth analysis of intercultural practices and their efficiency in supporting the process of resettlement of refugees and asylum seekers.
