A simplified alcohol + salt ATPS based integrated strategy for the in situ production, release and recovery of intracellular recombinant EGFP from E. coli in a single unit operation was successfully developed. Overall, this study shows the efficiency of ATPS-based integrated process for the recovery of EGFP from whole broth culture of E. coli, as well as a feasible economic process for a commercial application.
