Site selectivity is fundamental challenge in C-H activation reaction when multiple reactive C-H bonds are present in a molecule. This thesis depicts study on current challenges, solutions and effective methods developed to address site selectivity issues in C-H functionalization in aliphatic as well as aromatic by effective use of directing group approach via Pd catalysis. Work presented in thesis explains novel methods developed to reach distal gamma C-H bond of aliphatic acids and para C-H bond of aromatic for useful synthetic transformation in regio-selective manner.
