Establishing an effective, pedagogical method for Bb clarinet students to transfer to the bass clarinet
thesis
posted on 2017-02-17, 00:03 authored by Toohey, BrendanThis study aims to establish an effective, pedagogical method for Bb clarinet students to successfully transfer to the bass clarinet. The differences between these two instruments are investigated by conducting a thorough review of the existing literature on the subject, combined with the opinion of professional bass clarinettists within Australia and overseas. By combining these two qualitative data sets, correlations and similarities in approach will be identified to suggest a method to transfer successfully.
