Discovery & Design of Novel DsbA Inhibitors Using Fragment-Based Design Strategies

thesis
posted on 2020-02-18, 06:27 authored by WESAM SHALAN ALWAN ALWAN
In this work, Wesam designed and synthesised compounds to overcome multi-drug resistant bacteria and potentially protect future antibiotics from becoming obsolete. This was done by investigating a novel mechanism of disarming bacteria thereby making them unable to cause infections, rather than killing bacteria. The project focussed on using fragment-based drug design to develop inhibitors of a bacterial protein that is a master regulator of bacterial virulence.
