Glutathione transferase omega-1 (GSTO1-1) is an enzyme which has been found to be involved in the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome, and GSTO1-1 inhibitors can serve as potential therapeutics of various inflammatory conditions. This thesis develops novel potent GSTO1-1 inhibitors, and describes the endeavour of improving the sensitivity of currently-used biochemical assay for the evaluation of GSTO1-1 inhibitors.
