Characterisation of β-Adrenoceptor Responses in Brite Adipocyte and Skeletal Muscle Metabolism

thesis
posted on 2017-06-19, 01:51 authored by JON MERLIN
Skeletal muscle and adipose tissue are important targets in the treatment of metabolic diseases, that include obesity and type 2 diabetes. This thesis has focused on the role of a group of cell surface receptors, the beta-adrenoceptors, on the metabolic activity in these tissues. These receptors may represent a novel target in the treatment of metabolic diseases.
