Correct development of the nervous system requires precise regulation of axon outgrowth, guidance and termination. However, little is known about how signalling and adhesion molecules that control axon development are transcriptionally regulated. Using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans, this thesis explores the role of the transcriptional repressor C-terminal binding protein-1 (CTBP-1) in regulating axonal development.
