Specific structural modification on curcumin, an active ingredient of the spice turmeric to produce curcumin diarylpentanoid demonstrated improved anticancer activity on prostate cancer cells; evident by its significant growth suppressive effect and cancer killing potential. Investigation on gene and protein expression study provided an understanding into the potential anticancer activity of the compound. Overall, curcumin diarylpentanoid demonstrated potential anticancer activity and warrants further research for its use in the treatment of prostate cancer.
