This thesis examines the attitudes and behaviours of generalist nurses when providing nursing care to people who have been admitted to hospital following a suicide attempt. It identifies a concept referred to as suicide anxiety as an influencing factor to the care nurses are able to provide and offers suggestions as to how nurses can be supported in dealing with this anxiety.
