Additive manufacturing of duplex stainless steels using selective laser melting

thesis
posted on 2020-04-07, 02:50 authored by DERUI JIANG
This thesis is focused on additive manufacturing (3D printing) of duplex stainless steels using selective laser melting. The underlying motivation is to develop the ability and understanding required to 3D print duplex stainless steels on demand, and potentially on-site, for the use in remote oil and gas applications. The 3D printed duplex stainless steels presented in this thesis exhibits unique microstructure with promising mechanical and electrochemical properties for their applications. The relationship between the properties obtained and the microstructure is discussed in detail in this thesis.
