Within that industry, reality TV, or zhenren xiu (真人秀) has become arguably one of the most profitable forms of TV entertainment since 2012. In this thesis, I explore the production, consumption and online discussion of reality TV in China, so as to find out Chinese people’s opinions, values and interests regarding reality TV in the highly-regulated social environment of 21st century mainland China. %I Monash University
