Sampson, Gary P. Productivity change in Australian manufacturing industry This thesis is a study of the sources of productivity change and a sensitivity analysis of model estimation. The overall approach adopted is a very neo-classical one, where the neo-classical assumptions have been accepted and not debated. The thesis is a study of the theory of the sources of productivity change, and an empirical application of the models examined in the theoretical section. In the chapters devoted to an empirical investigation of productivity change, extensive use has been made of aggregate production functions.
