As agreed at Monash University's Library Management Committee (LMC), June 2007 a trial of the EBL client driven acquisition model for ebooks was carried out from September 2007 until the end of March 2008. The trial was deemed to be a success in terms of the criteria for evaluation proposed by LMC and it is recommended that the Library continues with the use of the model on the basis that a clearly defined subset of the EBL records, with publication dates 2007 and later, is loaded to the Library catalogue to limit the potential expenditure; that expenditure is monitored closely and loading of titles adjusted if deemed appropriate; and that a number of issues identified during the trial, are addressed by EBL.
