Development and validation of scales to rate the intensity of balance exercise MELANIE KIM FARLIE 10.4225/03/5954d2cb67113 https://bridges.monash.edu/articles/thesis/Development_and_validation_of_scales_to_rate_the_intensity_of_balance_exercise/5150080 Balance exercises are routinely prescribed to improve balance to prevent falls in older adults. To determine the optimal intensity of balance exercises in rehabilitation, a valid measure of intensity is needed. This thesis reports a scale development project that has developed two scales to measure balance exercise intensity, and assessed these new measures in a diverse sample of older adults. This research has laid the groundwork necessary for future investigation of exercise intensity recommendations as they apply to balance exercise training. 2017-06-29 01:48:57 balance exercise older adult exercise intensity scale development Physiotherapy
