An Improved Method for Bandwidth Selection when Estimating Roc Curves Hall, Peter G Hyndman, Rob J. 10.4225/03/59360693c376c https://bridges.monash.edu/articles/journal_contribution/An_Improved_Method_for_Bandwidth_Selection_when_Estimating_Roc_Curves/5080744 The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve is used to describe the performance of a diagnostic test which classifies observations into two groups. We introduce a new method for selecting bandwidths when computing kernel estimates of ROC curves. Our technique allows for interaction between the distributions of each group of observations and gives substantial improvement in MISE over other proposed methods, especially when the two distributions are very different. 2017-06-06 01:34:06 binary classification 1959.1/2308 Bandwidth selection 2002 kernel estimator monash:2308 ROC curve
