Untitled actions: performative photography and self-representation RaeClare 2017 This exegesis documents my Master of Fine Art practice-led research project exploring photographic representation within a feminist framework. Through a dialogue on performative photography, the project engages with discourses of representation, ideas of movement and gesture, and theories of embodied subjectivity. Beginning with the research question -How can performative photography activate the body, and complicate notions of identity and subjectivity? - I have explored various strategies by artists and theorists to shed light on the issues surrounding self-representation.
