Back-Contact Perovskite Solar Cells BACALDOROTA MALWINA 2020 Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) reached power conversion efficiencies comparable to the silicon alternatives, currently dominating the photovoltaic market. Researchers are now seeking to address other factors that are inhibiting the rate of commercialisation of perovskite technologies such as the scalability of the manufacturing process and stability. This thesis presents an investigation into benefits of implementing a quasi-interdigitated back-contact (QIBC) architecture in perovskite photovoltaic devices. In situ experiments are performed during the deposition of the photoactive material and during post-treatment experiments. Furthermore, an antireflective coating for QIBC PSCs is proposed, which simultaneously acts as a passivation and encapsulation layer.
